Dr Paul Olugbenga Awoniyi had his PhD in Gender Studies at the University of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. He is a researcher and lecturer at the Centre for Gender and Social Policy Studies, Obafemi Awolowo University. He is also a recipient of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund – Tetfund in 2016. The following are his specific research areas: Gender equality, Climate change and women, Rural livelihood and women, and Rural Water Management. He engages both the qualitative and quantitative research methods both independently and as a mixed approach. His general research areas cover girl child development, women empowerment and Gender-based violence. He lectures Introduction to Feminist Theory and Gender and Social Development at the postgraduate school.
